Scholarship Program

The scholarship program is funded by California State Coroners Association and is available to active members and their families. The program and annual recipient selections are administered by the Association’s Scholarship Committee.

Who is eligible for the scholarship?
Applicants must be active, principal or associate members of the California State Coroners Association or a qualified relative of an eligible member. The member must be in good standing and all dues paid.

When is the deadline for submission of materials?
All application materials must be submitted to CSCA with a postmark no later than August 15th, in order to qualify for the following fall or spring semester.

What constitutes a complete application packet?
1. A completed application form.
2. Proof of graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D. equivalent.
3. Proof of enrollment in an accredited junior college or four-year college or university.
4. Official transcript with grades and cumulative GPA.
5. Signed Personal Statement regarding importance of scholarship, college and or career plans.

What is the value of the scholarship award?
The amount of the scholarships will be up to $1,000 per year. The scholarship funds will be distributed among the recipient(s) at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. Applicants are not eligible to receive a scholarship more than three times in a four year period.  The award will be applied to the cost of tuition, room and board, fees, books and supplies.

How are winners selected?
The selection committee considers academic performance, educational goals and financial need. Priority will be given to students enrolled in at least nine units. Applicants will be notified of their status in the summer and scholarships will be presented at the awards ceremony in September.
